Blazing Salads II
(Restaurants - American)
21c Claredon St
Dublin 2 IE
353-1-671-9552
Description:
This casual, fun restaurant is perched atop the Powerscourt Centre, which houses some of the best shopping in Dublin. At Blazin' Salads, customers walk through a fast moving line and choose a main dish from the list of daily specials and then choose two salads. You may be tempted to get a plate of four salads though, as there are so many tempting choices, including pasta-based salads, couscous, potato, tomato, and other variations, all well-spiced and filling. Lots of meatless options, as well. The atmosphere is fun, with movie posters lining the walls and plenty of room inside or on the deck overlooking the mall's center square. Great desserts, too!

Brown's Bar
(Restaurants - American)
88-95 Grafton St
Dublin 2 IE
353-1-677-6761
Description:
Popular with "ladies who lunch" but garnering a growing crowd of executives meeting here over coffee and/or dessert. And for refueling during a shopping spree, Brown's offers classy ambience, expert cappuccinos and espressos, and rich cakes, pies, pastries, and ice cream desserts to suit every sweet tooth. The cheesecake options are a can't-miss, particularly toffee or blueberry. Yogurt-topped fruit salad is a healthier option.

Elephant and Castle
(Restaurants - American)
18 Temple Bar
Dublin 2
353-1-679-3121
Description:
If you like omelets, you'll love Elephant and Castle, where a whole page of the large menu is devoted to eclectic omelet combinations. Served hot, fresh and filling, omelets are served all-day in this casual restaurant in the center of the Temple Bar area, and they're as popular at lunch as they are at breakfast. Traditional midday choices such as burgers, chicken sandwiches, soups and pastas round out the menu. A comfortable atmosphere with light wood tables and benches and a wide-open view of Temple Bar. Casual attire.

Itsa Bagel
(Restaurants - American)
Lower Liffey St
Dublin 1 IE
353-1-874-0486
Description:
Though traditional breakfasts still have a place in the hearts and stomachs of Dubliners, quick bagel breakfasts have gained a lot of ground. One of the most popular stops for a quick workday or leisurely weekend breakfast is Itsa Bagel, where nine bagel flavors are imported directly from New York. The breakfast bagel sandwiches are the biggest hits and are filled with egg, sausage, and tomato relish or smoked salmon, capers and red onion. Part of the Epicurean Food Hall, a grouping of specialty stalls offering Asian spices, fish, cheeses and pastries with one central seating area. Itsa Bagel also offers huge bagel sandwiches that people queue up for at lunchtime. The Reuben on pumpernickel is popular.

Metro Café
(Restaurants - American)
43 S William St
Dublin 2
353-1-679-4515
Description:
Many locals claim this is the best coffee in Dublin, which is interesting as it is the most American-style coffee shop in town. The coffee is ground to order and comes in numerous flavors and concoctions. Inside, the decor mimics a New York deli, and the food offerings include gourmet sandwiches on bagels, tuna salad, and corned beef, as well as the typical array of cakes and muffins. A great location near Powerscourt gives this place an upbeat buzz. Fun to eat in but quick enough to get an order to go.
